As much as I see the practicality of learning Python - Vala and it's Python-eske Genie variant are also interesting. This is just an example of some of the applications using the language. One of the sessions @ #OLF was on Unity development. The examples happens to be using Vala and I found them clear and understandable, even without much exposure to the language syntax. So many languages, so little time... What language would you recommend for maximum flexibility, command-line scripting, cross-platform GUI and web applications/framework? (Not asking for much... ;-P)
